Shore Road -- repairs coming

The good news has come that at last the water problem on Shore Road will be addressed by a construction project set to begin this spring.
Village Times article page A5.

In its present elegant decrepitude Shore Road does make an interesting photo, but who will not be glad when that road becomes just another ordinary thoroughfare?

The Eskimos have a word

for this particular kind of snow,

glinting and lumpy, a few days after an ice storm,

and I wish I knew it!

This snow like mutton fat jade,

cauliflower in white sauce,

buttery drifts of mashed potatoes,

albino bronze shields,

shimmering rivers of ice,

Far too much detergent in the washer,

meringue ready to toast,

Cottage cheese with bits of bran muffin,
landscape painted by a wicked giant
with a limited palette.
