Just a few more days and the visual clutter will be gone. Was anyone's vote ever won by posting a sign along a road? Doubt it. Waste of money.

Montauk daisies

This lavish bed of Montauk daisies stopped me in my tracks the other day at Suffolk Community College in Selden. The plant is hardy, doesn't mind sea spray, and seems to love our mild fall weather.

Who's eating the yew berries?

Chickadee? Mockingbird? Squirrel? Maybe that yellow warbler I saw one morning recently. At any rate, there were a lot more red berries here last week.
