Sunken boat, Scott's Cove
At low tide in this corner of Setauket Harbor two mysterious structures are visible. The nearer one may be a dock or a ramp of some kind. The farther one is clearly a boat, perhaps a whaleboat. When it sank and under what conditions, I do not know. It's been there for decades. The green slime adds a special touch, doesn't it? I couldn't decide which of the 5 pictures I took yesterday to use on the blog, so here are all of them. Scott's Cove is a great spot for bird watching. I saw a Great Blue Heron there yesterday.
