Hope this gives you, K, some idea of how the fence is made. Holes are drilled through the uprights for the wire, much easier than hollowing out big holes, I would think. Two-rail fence can be made as well. I'm not sure the pioneers would have approved of the spagetti look of that rail..

oh thank you for showing me, it doesnt look that hard to make, I like it a lot, different than what you normally see and kind of primitive. I still have to work on the Mr. and see if he will let me put up any kind of a fence, he doesnt want it to intrude on his gorgeous lawn
