Pie line

The line for pies stretches out the door at Briermere Farms. (I know this place is not in Stony Brook, but I wish it were)

do you remember when the people working the pie shop were ladies who wore (for lack of a better term or further knowledge on the subject) amish-like head coverings?

a good portion of my life's summer memories involve hitting up all the farm stands and then briermere, and coming home with a car overloaded with vegetables and a few pies. we'd eat a bag of raw, sweet string beans and cherry tomatoes throughout the drive home.

then once we were home it usually went something like, "um, there's nothing wrong with pie for dinner, right?!"

Great comment, TVN!
We're lucky to have so many farm stands available. I think they still wear the head coverings there. It was so crowded the other day (Friday)I was glad to get away. Usually I enjoy the people-watching.I got the last boysenberry pie of the day.
