St. James General Store

I paid a visit to the St. James General Store yesterday, a wonderful place to browse, especially at this season. It's been there since 1857. I advise you to take home some of their famous chocolate chip cookies, the best I've ever tasted.
The St. James General Store, located on Moriches Road, is said to be the oldest continuously operating general store in the United States. It and a number of other historic structures were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 as Saint James District.(Wikipedia)

Good Morning!! Dropping by to send you wishes for a Merry Christmas and a fine holiday season.

And I find pictures of this wonderful old store! I absolutely love that old storage unit ~~ is it an old refrigerator of some kind?

Hi Biddie,
Merry Christmas!
The wooden cases are from the olden days and probably held perishable foods. The store was a post office then and that's what the slotted wall fixture is for.
