Symphony in grey

Color drains out of the natural world as the days grow shorter. Goldenrod holds up grey fluff where yellow flowers were. Almost everything is grey. This pointed rock is the spot where I took pictures of four young barn swallows on July 7th.

Good Morning !!!

Interesting contrast - soon there will be ice out there instead of water, if not already.

Hope those young barn swallows have found themselves a nice snuggy-warm barn somewhere ...

Is this down in the Village of Stony Brook looking over the Grist Mill run off towards Head of the Harbor? It looks like the Judges house, I lived behind it.

This picture was taken from the parking lot by the Three Village Inn.

Thanks Priscilla ~ That's right where I was thinking. Nice to see the old place still standing strong. My grandparents house used to be UP the hill to the right of that, on the bluff. It has since been taken down and a new home built in it's place. Would be interested in seeing a pic of it.

I'll make an expedition to that area ASAP and try to get some pix.
