I hate traffic and the people driving out in it lately, today I went out for lunch, I drove to the bank, almost got hit, drove to the package store, almost got hit, drove to grocery store, almost got hit, all three places. They are in such a hurry and drive like maniacs around here, I just want to go home to Hartland where we have no traffic!
I think many people feel driven (no pun intended) at this time of year to ENJOY their vacations. It's a kind of greed that I see everywhere. They must cram as much "fun" as possible into each day, each hour, hence the speed and rude driving. It's like a fever.
There is almost no traffic out where I live. When I go down to Panama City, I am really uncomfortable because my heavy traffic driving skills aren't as keen as they used to be.
Even tho' the people are used to having to contend with all the traffic, I think that they still harbor, in various degrees, inpatience and frustration with it, a certain amount of unconscious competition arises and there are always those that are willing to break common courtesy and traffic rules to get to where they want to go ....
K: glad that you weren't hit ...
P: I'm always like a tourist when I go to town - so many things to see all jumbled together like a crazy quilt!
P.S. Priscilla - looking at your pictures, the streets in your area are a lot prettier and genteel -looking than the streets in the Panama City area - that's for sure!!

The sign really typifies what a rush we are in these days, doesn't it?
