A rose hip is the center of the rose flower. When the petals fall off the center swells and contains the seeds. On beach roses (rosa rugosa) the hips get really big and you can make jelly or tea from them. They contain a great deal of vitamin C.
Mom is still recovering from severe eyestrain, she will be getting new glasses very soon and until then the doctor wanted her eyes rested up to ensure an accurate prescription.
I've talked to her a couple of times to make sure she's ok, she sounded chipper and bright. Hopefully soon she'll be back online.
I worry about her down there when she falls off the radar like this.

Good morning folks!! Thanks, Priscilla for asking about me .. I'm rebeling a little here and sneaking back online under much more self-discipline than I had before I messed up my eyes. My eyes are doing a lot better now - but it is obvious that I need a new prescription.
The Eye Center called me a couple of days ago, asking me to change my appointment from this coming Monday to the 18th - school starts up again the 2nd and 3rd weeks of August in this area (I've never gotten used to this timing) and they were scrambling to try to accommodate all the requests for appointments for school kids before they went back to school.
So I am carefully back online - not going to wait another 2 weeks ....
I'm glad that you mentioned the source for the monster rose hips - I wasn't sure where you got the jelly/vitamin C ones.

No I am not, I got a bag of dried smelly rosehips from a cute shop once but I never knew what they were exactly.
