I've decided to have a theme all week long, and this week it's the Stony Brook Railroad Station, our link to the Big Apple. (This picture should have been first, as you don't go to the platform without a ticket in your hand.)
It's been a few years since a real live person dispensed the tickets. I wonder if there's any place in the country where the old way prevails?

Back in the days of Berkeley Heights, a couple of times my mother and I took the commuter train to points East - we bought our tickets at the station ticket window - it doesn't seem right to get them from a machine ....
