Two buildings joined together to make one. On the left "The Old Stone Jug" that had been used to store jugs and molasses and dates from the early 19th century. It was moved here in 1941 to be joined to the 1921 Fire House. The combined structure at first housed the Suffolk Museum and later the Garden Club Exchange, a consignment shop. At present? Perhaps a private home. I love the look of these warm stone walls. What is their age? The identical brownstone eyebrows over windows on both sides suggest that the stonework may be part of the Melville-era restoration, circa 1941.
